  1. I liked the book because it showed the life of a girl from Afghanistan who is living without a father in the land of the Taliban
My favorite part of the book was when the Taliban soldier asked Parvan to read a letter to him because it showed that the Taliban were heartless
I don't think that the characters could have done anything better.
The character's were rescued by Parvana because she took on the job of providing for her family.
The survival situation was that Parvana had to provide for her family when her father was arrested, Mrs.Weera helped them by taking care of the children.
The characteristics that helped the characters survive were there need to live and the characteristic that helped Parvana was that she was able to change into a boy to do her job.

  2. I liked the book The Breadwinner by Deborah Ellis because it was fascnating to learn about what people had to go through just to go outside in Agfghanistan.
My most favorite part in the book was when Mrs.Weera came and helped the family. She had a very comforting personality trait too.
I beleive that the Father could have stood up for himself more, because education is very important to him.
Parvana rescued the family from starvation, thirst, and being killed.
Some people who helped them was Ms.Weera, and Shauzia, who both helped with the school and took care of the kids sometimes.
The characteristic of Parvana that helped her survive was bravery and pride, since she kept her familys pride by working, and bravery for dressing as a boy and going into the Afghani streets.

  3. 1. It showed me what was happening in the world (Afghanistan)which gives me more worldly views and that makes me a more interesting person. I also found it exciting at some pionts in the story.
    2. My favorite part was when the protagonist is in the the dark room alone...or not and she does not see anything.

  4. I liked it because it had a story based on a girl for once most books i read are about boys.
My favorite part was when the main character, Parvannna got a haircut. What one character, parvanna's mother could've done better is she shouldnt of cried when the father was tooken away she should of remained strong and tough.
They were rescued by when their food supply was out parvanna made herself loook like a boy.
The survival scenario was that a family lost their father and since women werent allowed out side they were hopeless.
A teacher helped parvannnas mother get back on her feet and helped clean their home.
Parvanna characteristic was that she was determined and always if had a goal went for it like when her and her freind needed/wanted trays to sell things on they eventuallly got them.
